Report #2 on EM controlled plot

Done by Batcho Katumbo

Date: 27/02/2015

  • On Friday the 27th the second set of measurements for the controlled plots were measured. The method used to measure the second set of data was similar to the first. The measurement was done with a measuring tape and the plants were divided into three height classes: 1-9 crn, 10-19 cm and 20-30 cm.
  • On the plot with EM application a total of 127 Mutete plants were counted. Of these 127, there was a drop recorded from 64 to 58 in the class height with the range of 1-9 cm, an increase of 55 to 60 was recorded in the range of 10-19 cm and lastly an increase from 8 to 9 was recorded in the range of 20-30cm. No plants have exceeded the 30cm mark as of date.
  • On the plot without any application a total of 65 Mutete were counted. Of these 65, these was a drop recorded from 24 to 20 in the height range of 1-9 crn, an increase from 41 to 42 in the range of 10-19 cm, and lastly 3 plants were recorded in the range of 20-30 cm.
  • The plants on both plots were watered each day in the afternoon. We used 201 buckets to measure the amount of water and EM to be applied. Equal liters were applied on the respective plots.
  • The general wellbeing of both sets if plants is exceptional. There no distinctive differences in the physical appearances of the plants with the naked eye. The following are pictures of the plots with the Mutete plants.

Report on EM controlled plot

Done by Batcho Katumbo

On Friday the20th of February the two controlled plots were measured, one with EM application and one ithout. To measure the Mutete plants in the plots, we divided the height measurement into 3 groups; 1- 9 cm, 10-19 cm and 20-30 cm.

On the plot with EM application a total of 127 Mutete plants were counted. Of these 127, 64 were in the range of 1-9 cm, 55 were in the range of 10-19 cm and 8 were above 20 cm.

On the plot without any application a total of 65 Mutete plants were recorded. Of the 65 Mutete plants, 24 were in the range of 1-9 cm while 41 were in the range of 10-19 cm.

It should be noted that the plot with EM application is twice the size of the plot with no application, hence the huge differences in the total number if plants recorded for the respective plots. The plot with EM application was in a square of 6m by 6m while the latter was in a square of 3m by 6m.

The general wellbeing of both sets if plants is exceptional. There no distinctive differences in the physical appearances of the plants with the naked eye.
